A rare blend - delicate and airy piece of chiffon weave made from the fine combined effects of Tussar silk yarn and silk crepe yarn.
'Handloom' - The craft of shaping cloth which is remarkable and acomplished in itself. It is said to have originated centuries ago, with references to woven cotton fabrics found in the ruins of Mohenjodaro, fragments of Indian handlooms discovered in Egypt, and weaving styles found in the Vedas.
'Chiffon' - is a weaving process that results in a lightweight, plain weave fabric with a slight sheen. The weaving of chiffon creates small puckers made using crepe yarns that are twisted counterclockwise and clockwise respectively. This fabric has a slightly rough texture. It's shimmery and has a translucent look. It is also stretchable as it is woven in different directions. The name Chiffon' comes from the French word Chiff', which means Cloth' or Rag'. Earlier chiffons were made only from silk.
'Tussar silk' - is also referred to as kosa silk'. It is a type of wild silk produced by silkworms that eat plants such as asan and arjun. It is well-known and recognised for its natural golden colour. It has a strong and crisp texture. Bhagalpur is India's primary tussar producer state.
