The name is inspired by the notion that "we are Here' to initiate a dream" by creating unique works that showcase our creativity with a fine feel and special love for the crafts & artisans. And everyone is gratefully welcomed "Here at Atra" for their own kind of needs.

Atra is a designer brand. We sell our designs as well as offer a bespoke service - custom-made or made-to-order for quantities - and ship worldwide. We, as a team, design our pieces by combining traditional and modern crafts with the intention of encouraging the collective growth of each artisan and label we do. Our first designs include lifestyle pieces, soft furnishings, and fashion accessories... clothing, and more are in the works...

The collection is primarily an original interpretation of Indian tribal folk art and traditional crafts. A subtle , modern interpretation of significant motifs, patterns designs and methods from varied traditional art forms, addressing the exquisite craftsmanship of our each artisan who have been associated with us since the beginning.

The names of the pieces in the collection are mainly inspired by their appearance, characteristics, and feel. They depict colour, light, purity, simplicity, nature, texture, form and method. It is a combination of names from several languages such as Indian, English, Latin, Greek, Spanish, Japanese and Arabic.

To be honest, there might be many, as nearly we all are familiar with this incredible art form, and everyone has a unique viewpoint and way of describing it, but the meaning is always the same; Magnificent". Tribal Folk art... on the beautiful mud walls is an expression of the traditional cultures of the communities and tribes. It reflects the creative energy usually found in rural areas which serves as the basis for the craftsmanship of the tribals. Traditionally, they are ornamental, reflecting various occasions – celebration, marriage, birth, thanksgiving, harvest, nature and cultural festivals. What sets it apart is the use of bright colours, geometric patterns and stylized shapes. There are many well-known tribal and folk arts, such as Warli, Madhubani, Bhil, Gond, kalamkari, and so on... The first collection is certainly inspired by a special love for this alluring art on fascinating mud walls. In particular, warli - in the collection.

We have a skilled team of weavers, printers, embroiderers, handicraft women, tailors, and such other artisans... Displayed collection is created using handloom fabrics or pieces originally developed in Assam, Kolkata, Bhagalpur, Srinagar. Self Designed Block Prints / Screen Prints from Jaipur, Haryana.
